About Marissa

Photography: Kirsten Cunningham
Marissa Lico is a visual artist based on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales. Working in acrylic and mixed media, her practice is shaped by texture, layering, and an intuitive, experimental approach to surface. Drawing on her Italian heritage and the tradition of elevating the ordinary, her paintings explore how ritual and memory shape the way we experience home, food, and connection.
Inspired by nostalgia and the rhythms of domestic life, her work evokes the glow of a shared table, a street softening into evening, the unhurried gesture of gathering. Grounded in a background in photography, her work often begins with the captured moment. Marissa's visually tactile works invite the viewer to feel the weight of these moments as much as we see them. She brings together subject, memory, and storytelling with warmth and intention to create art that feels both intimate and timeless.
